Dr. Chau Nakada
Dr. Nakada has a passion and a strong depth of knowledge of the vision and eye health of infants, children and adults. She graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience from UCLA, then earned her Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry. She gained valuable experience during clinical training in children’s vision, including vision therapy and specialty contact lenses for all ages.
Dr. Nakada has a special interest in the development of the visual system and its effects on early childhood learning and school performance. She understands the importance of the eyes working together, clearly and efficiently, to allow children to focus their effort on learning, not on seeing. Using vision therapy, Dr. Nakada helps children and adults improve their ability to see clearly and easily.
Starting from the first eye exam during infancy, Dr. Nakada focuses on her patient’s developmental milestones while providing parental support and education to allow parents to nurture their children’s visual development. As a mother of three children, she compassionately provides resources and guidance for parents through these important developmental stages. She has extensive training in corneal refractive therapy (CRT), which uses specialized contact lenses to reshape the eye and improve vision without the full-time use of glasses or contact lenses. In addition to her extensive background with CRT, Dr. Nakada also specializes in fitting all contact lenses including astigmatic and multifocal lenses.
Like Dr. Bell, Dr. Nakada is also conversant in Spanish, as well as being fluent in Vietnamese.
